Wrap it up in a box and give it to God

As I sit here with the weight of the direction God is taking me, I visualize all of my questions, fears, shame, inadequacies, human condition, difficulties, impossibilities and put them in a beautiful box with a big bow wrapped around all sides. I do this because He will gladly receive it. But the true act of faith is to trust Him with this box.

Letting go of the box, entrusting Him with it’s contents and taking all of these emotions away from me will ultimately lead to a peacefulness I have never known.  This does not mean I won’t fall down or endure tragedies in my life. It simply means He will carry me through and never let me fall.  I may not physically feel His hands but I will certainly feel the hands of His children holding me up. Our creator gave life, His word, His Son and His Holy Spirit. He has well equipped me for all things life gives. But when life gets really hard it seems easier to give up.

See, in my sinful human condition, putting God in a box and bringing Him out only when I am hurting or need something is clearly backwards! I must put all of my stuff- emotions, hurts, unforgiveness, regret, shame, bitterness, untrust, fear- that keep me away from Him in that box, wrap it up and give it freely to Him.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your sweet mercy and grace. Please forgive us when we put you in a box and forget the magnitude of your sovereignty. Take all of our emotions that get in our way and let us release them to you today. Replace all of these things with your peacefulness.

We praise your almighty name!

In Jesus name,

We proclaim how great you are and tell of the wonderful things you have done. – Psalm 75:1

Praise the Lord, all people on earth, praise his glory and might.- 1 Chronicles 16:28

God is wise and powerful! Praise him forever and ever. – Daniel 2:20

Let us praise God for his glorious grace, for the free gift he gave us in his dear Son! -Ephesians 1:5

Praise him—he is your God, and you have seen with your own eyes the great and astounding things that he has done for you. -Deuteronomy 10:21
