Pain and Empty Words

cry

When we are hurting the words are sometimes empty or nonexistent.  When our hearts are full of pain and we feel like we can’t breathe.  How then are we expected to pray even more fervently?  This goes against our grain as humans.  We want to succumb to the pain and let it engulf our lives.  But in those desperate moments when the righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.  The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:17-18)

Have you ever been crushed in spirit?  No matter where you look the storm is raging.  These are the very times we are to release our pain to him.  He will never abandon us regardless of where our lives are at that particular moment.  When we turn to him he will bring us out of this distress and still our storm to a whisper and the waves of the sea will be hushed.  (Psalm 107:28-29)

No matter what we experience neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39

When we choose his love to engulf our lives and not the pain of the moment. We can stand back up and face the storm head on.  Knowing in Christ we have peace even through tribulations in this world. But in our darkest moments we should take heart and be encouraged because Christ overcome the world. (John 16:33)

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank you Christ Jesus overcame the world and freed us from the worries of our tribulations.  Lord, please help us grow closer to you every day so we can go through our storms on firm ground.  Help each one make us stronger and affirm our trust in you.  Wrap your arms around us and wash your peace over our heartaches.  We release our hurts to you at this very moment and pray you give us freedom and peace through Jesus.

In Jesus name,

Amen
