Let’s be honest…is it our PATH or His PATH? When we are on the path of life whether it be destruction or good works, is it ours?
In this world we grow up to learn everything is all about us. We want what we want when we want it and taught our worth is measured by how much we accomplish or acquire including wealth and people. There is an overwhelming message we must all succeed. This message is loud and clear and starts before we can say our ABC’s. The pressure is immense for a young child today. Some believe the biggest lie of all that they are a failure before they start. We are not defined by a single action or numerous actions. We as a society have no understanding of grace.
Webster’s defines grace as unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification. What does all this mean? Grace is not earned. We do not deserve it but God gives it freely “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:8-10).
These words are meant to help understand grace and understand we are not meant to live life independently. God gave us each other and the most perfect example, Jesus Christ. Our society lies and shouts to us we need to be independent and do not need anyone to accomplish our path. Today we have hand held devices we can simply ask a question and immediately get the answer. But trust me, our answers come only from Him. We need a community and others to pray with us and for us. We must Pray And Trust Him to live life abundantly, even if our circumstances do not change. Jesus changes us from the inside out. He said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). Jesus came to give us peace, dreams and eternal life. He doesn’t steal, those lies come from the enemy. We live this abundant life through Him and only Him.
Our PATH really is His PATH. His plans for our lives is perfect even when we do not understand it. We cannot lose sight of what He is creating in us. This is why we must Pray And Trust Him. 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).
